Stirling Buddhist Group
(Triratna Buddhist Community Stirling)
Welcome! We offer support, group practice, and guidance on meditation and Buddhism for people in the Central Scotland area. We practice at Logie Kirk Hall, Causeway Head, Stirling FK9 5LH: see Location page. We begin setting up from 7.15, start at 7.30, and finish at 9:30 pm.
We are affiliated with the Triratna Buddhist Community (formerly Friends of the Western Buddhist Order). Our level of experience varies from complete beginners to those who are more advanced in their practice. We are an informal and friendly group of all ages and backgrounds, both men and women, and are always happy to welcome people new to the center.
If you are new to meditation: we recommend you attend one of our beginners' evenings: the next sessions for any new starters will be on April 25 and May 2, at 7.15 pm for 7.30 pm start, an introduction to Mindfulness of Breathing and our other foundation practice, the Loving-Kindness or Metta Bhavana practice. Both are well-known across most Buddhist traditions. Please see our Programme section and the Meditation page, for information.
If you are an experienced meditator: We hold a weekly meeting with meditation, talks, discussions, and occasional visiting speakers, and you don't need to be a Buddhist to benefit from coming along. Please feel free to drop in any Thursday evening you like, from 7pm or so (that will help us to set up ) and meditation, or talks start at 7.30 pm (please check our program for any updates or changes).
